If you love outdoor activities or spend alot of time in your car you should think about purchasing polarized lenses.  These have been treated with a chemical film to reduce the glare reflected from sand, water, snow, blacktop and more so you'll be able to see better when your in situations with more glare. 

To tell if a lens is polarized, take two pairs of the same sunglasses and put them together so the four lenses are facing and touching one another.  Slowly rotate one pair of glasses with the two lenses still touching until one pair is perpendicular to the other.  You shouldn't be able to see through them if the glasses are polarized (everything will appear black).  If the sunglasses are not polarized, you'll be able to see through both lenses.
